Congratulations Joe Schaub on your C-Scow Worlds win at Delavan Lake Yacht Club (http://www.dlyc.com)! He’s shown here receiving his SailZing shirt at the DLYC.
Interesting idea, but I’ll pass. I’m convinced that it’s a tripping hazard for me. Perhaps a toe hook rail alongside the thwart would work better for me. Like the concept, but I need a different approach given my, likely, less elegant footwork..
Love it!! I’ll totally be adding a leeboard pull-down line modification to my MC-Scow. On a quick tack, I might only get the board partially down. Once you’re out hiking, who wants to go to the low side to get a board down? It’s bad enough when you have a crew on a C-Scow to do it, let alone solo on the MC-Scow. In the situation that you describe, it’s important to note that the boat to windward has to make sure that you can’t hit them with your stern when they’re keeping clear. Good point though.
That’s a great comment. I was really paying attention to how the windward boat managed to keep within their space and not get too low and foul the leeward boat. This is clearly a skill that needs to be practiced. Opti sailors should be able to really capitalize on this technique.

In the last photo, I see that you’ve taped your mainsheet block. I assume that’s to warn you not to cleat your main…ever.

Where did Noel get the bracket and what were the part numbers? Also, what was the approximate cost?
