This product by makes setting your Melges 15 rig tension a breeze. These tools fit on your standard equipment sidestay/shroud and turnbuckle. This Quick Set Shroud Tool replaces turnbuckle wrenches or other aftermarket knobs. They go on each side and are ready to use while on the water. To adjust tension, simply undo a velcro tape and lift the two levers that give you the power to adjust the shrouds. When set, simply return the levers to the collapsed position and wrap the velcro closed. Because the levers are attached around the shroud, they can’t be dropped in the water or lost.
A scale on each side shows the relative setting for tension. Typically, the lowest point on the scale is your base point such as 14 or 15 and is set in conjunction with a Loos Gauge when it is first installed. The Quick Set Shroud Tool doesn’t measure tension, but it shows a relative indication of rig tension.
