New Melges 15 Products SailZing.com

New Products for Melges 15

We have four new products to enrich your Melges 15 experience. Each one solves problems that we’ve experienced and now you can have them too. These are all SailZing.com original designs.

Rig Tension Wrenches

We’ve tried a few rig wrenches and some were too hard to hold while turning and some were too finicky and bulky. They were all expensive. This set of attached wrenches for the Melges 15 shroud turnbuckles provide easy grip, are strong and yet eliminate 30% of the bulk (read that as “weight”). These rig wrenches use only one hook and loop strip that can be replaced by the user when they age. These rig tension tools also remind you which handle stays still and which handle turns and which way to turn it to add tension. These are sold as two pairs to cover port and starboard shrouds and include a set of four of our new Genius Shroud Pins. These are SailZing.com original designs.

Demonstration and Installation

Genius Shroud Pins

We have a love / hate relationship with hook and loop strips. So, we worked on an original design to replace the strips holding the shroud locking pins. While we were at it, we made it so that they wouldn’t fall in the water while we were adjusting the shrouds. …because there had to be something smarter. Check out our new design that we call SailZing Genius Shroud Pins.

SailSlide™ Mast Inserts

We were always so annoyed when our main sail got stuck while dousing. There is a lower slot above the GNAV that would catch the sail and force us to raise the sail again and carefully guide it past that spot. So, we thought, why don’t we just plug that slot up with a little slide that would keep the sail from getting stuck? Enter our SailZing SailSlide Mast Insert. It comes in two sections so that it can be inserted into the groove and they snap together. It doesn’t make you sail faster, but it makes life a little nicer when putting the boat away.

Vented Port Cover

We’ve got rats. In Florida, there are these Palm Rats that like to climb into your hull and chew your flotation if you leave your Inspection Port cover off to dry out your hull. You may not have Palm Rats, but you probably have rodents of some kind. Use these Vented Port Covers while your boat is drying out to let your inner hull dry. Of course, never sail with them installed.

We have more products coming that are all designed to make life easier to complement an awesome boat.
